Warriors to work out recently reinstated veteran Tyreke Evans
Tyreke Evans hasn't played in an NBA game in almost three years. Still, the 32-year-old former fourth overall pick is reportedly generating interest from multiple teams after being reinstated in February following the lengthy drug ban from the league.
Evans was picked by the Sacramento Kings in the 2009 NBA Draft and set what are still career-highs that year in points (20.1), rebounds (5.3), steals (1.5) and minutes per game (37.2). Evans also shot 45.8 percent from the field and came away with Rookie of the Year honors.
The former Memphis Tiger spent three more seasons with the Kings before being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of a three-team deal that also included the Portland Trail Blazers in July 2013. Evans played in 202 regular season games with New Orleans over the next three-plus campaigns, before being sent back to the Kings in February 2017.
Evans' reunion in Sacramento was short lived, as he played in only 14 contests with the squad before signing with the Memphis Grizzlies in the offseason going into the 2017-2018 campaign. Evans spent one year with the Grizzlies, before signing with the Indiana Pacers for the 2018-2019 season.
In 594 career regular season games, Evans has posted 15.7 points, 4.8 assists and 4.6 rebounds per contest.
