Chris Paul added a significant off-court achievement to his list Friday in North Carolina, hours after leading the Phoenix Suns to a win against the Los Angeles Clippers over 2,000 miles west.

The 12-time All-Star had a 15-point, 13-assist double-double Thursday night to help the visiting Suns (17-12) end a five-game losing streak with a 111-95 win vs. the Clippers. "CP3" then headed to his hometown of Winston-Salem, N.C., to walk across the stage and turn the tassel on Friday.

The 37-year-old played two seasons at Wake Forest from 2003 to 2005 before being selected by the New Orleans Hornets with the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. With a Rookie of the Year Award, as well as 11 All-NBA and nine All-Defensive honors, Paul has secured his spot as a first-ballot Hall of Famer.

An NBA title is seemingly the only thing missing from his mantle.

Paul isn't the only star point guard to go back to campus and earn his degree this year. In late August, Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry returned to Davidson College — where he played for three seasons — and graduated as well.
