Rookie Ja Morant has been making veteran opponents look silly all season. Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

It’s becoming a frequent theme during his rookie season. Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant making grown men look like tykes out on the basketball court.

Former NBA champion Trevor Ariza of the Portland Trail Blazers found that out Wednesday night.

It was not a fair fight from the start. Ariza was trying to defend the lightning-fast Morant in the open court on a fast break. What followed was both legendary from Morant’s perspective and embarrassing on Ariza’s part.

I wouldn’t say Morant broke Ariza’s ankles. Rather, the veteran forward’s entire lower body broke down in transition.

Morant is just stupid good. He creates mismatches all over the court. And when you put a dude who is 14 years older on him, it just becomes unfair.
