Watch: Hawks stun Bulls with OT alley-oop

Down a point with 0.5 seconds left, the Atlanta Hawks needed a miracle. A.J. Griffin delivered one.

After DeMar DeRozan was fouled on a three-point attempt with under a second to go, he calmly sank all three free throws to give Chicago a 122-121 lead. Then it was Griffin's time.

The Hawks rookie caught an alley-oop from Jalen Johnson and tossed in a six-footer to win at the buzzer. According to the "Trent Tucker Rule," an NBA player can't legally catch and shoot in less than 0.3 seconds, so Griffin actually had nearly a quarter-second to spare on his game-winner.

DeRozan probably thought he had already won the game with his free throws, but so did Trae Young when he canned a jumper with one second remaining to give Atlanta a two-point lead.

The entire overtime was full of ridiculous shot-making, particularly when Bogdan Bogdanovic made a jumper where he shot the ball over the backboard while falling out of bounds.

We can predict there won't be another NBA game this season with three lead changes in the final second.

The game only went to overtime because of a fourth-quarter play in the final second. Surrounded by four Hawks, Derrick Jones Jr. rebounded DeRozan's miss and got fouled with 0.4 seconds to go. Jones tied the game with his first free throw but missed the second to send the game to OT.

The most erratic overtime performance came from Zach LaVine, who got to the rim for two easy dunks, but otherwise only shot - and missed - three long pull-up threes.

The loss drops the Bulls to 11-15, and closer to the point they might think about blowing up their veteran-laden team.

Everything can change in a second in the NBA. And sometimes it only takes half a second.
