What happens when an elite scorer meets a lockdown defender? Monday night, the scorer got stopped twice.

With the Miami Heat leading his Phoenix Suns by a point, Devin Booker tried to drive on Jimmy Butler, Miami's five-time All-Defensive guard.

Butler guarded him tightly, and when Booker rose up from the right side, Butler met him at the spot and rejected his shot.

When Booker corralled the loose ball, Butler got right on top of him away and forced Booker into an off-balance three that clanged off the rim.

Those were two of the three shots Phoenix missed on their final possession, starting with a missed layup from Cameron Payne that Deandre Ayton rebounded.

Both Payne and Booker sank go-ahead buckets in the final two minutes, but couldn't cash in at the end.

Miami's defense was the key to their 13-point fourth quarter comeback, as their stifling defense held Phoenix to four made baskets in the final eight minutes of the game.

Booker finished with 25 points, but couldn't get the two that mattered most.
