WATCH: Karl-Anthony Towns interviewing Kevin Durant in HS

Being the first overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and leading the Timberwolves in rebounds and blocks in his first season, it’s easy to forget that Karl-Anthony Towns is still a youngster.

But fans and viewers were treated to a nice reminder on Thursday night. TNT reportedly showed a clip during Minnesota’s contest against the Golden State Warriors of Towns as a bright-eyed high school freshman conducting an interview with his hero, Kevin Durant.

Not surprisingly, the interview has become YouTube gold.

In a recent interview with HoopsHype, Durant recalled the moment with a grin, saying that Towns was “wise beyond his years.”

That wisdom didn’t simmer the St. Joseph High Schooler's excitement during the interview, though, as he gushed about wishing Durant “continued success on and off the court.”

It will be interesting to see how much play this interview gets leading up to the first meeting between the Timberwolves and Thunder, with OKC visiting Target Center Jan. 12.
