Playing in their final scrimmage before seeding games begin, Memphis Grizzlies center Jonas Valančiūnas elbowed Miami Heat forward Jae Crowder right in the face.

It was a testy exchange, as Valančiūnas appeared to perhaps have thrown the elbow intentionally, and it connected big time. Then afterward, he tried to shake Crowder’s hand, but the Heat veteran wasn’t having that at all.

Really, it’s fortunate that Crowder had a cool head and didn’t escalate this situation. We’ve seen big fights start in the past over stuff that wasn’t nearly as egregious as what Valančiūnas did here.
