Watch: Victor Wembanyama absurdly called for alley-oop from 3-point line — and it works

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama through just the start of the NBA preseason, it’s that he’s capable of doing just about anything from a versatility standpoint. But one play during the team’s 120-104 victory over the Miami Heat in its second preseason game stood out after watching it back slowly.

Wembanyama had the ball just outside the three-point line, flipped over a pass, took one step while starting to cut and called for an alley-oop — from the three-point line. Not only that, but he proceeded to get the lob immediately after and finished with a dunk, all in a matter of about two and a half steps.

Seeing it play out in slow motion makes it even more unbelievable.

The play was amazing to watch and the athleticism is nothing short of spectacular.

It’s only been two preseason games, but the 19-year-old No. 1 overall pick has already made numerous impressive plays. Wembanyama also tallied his second 20-point game in limited minutes on Friday, finishing with 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting, four rebounds, four assists and three blocks in just 23 minutes.

Four of his missed field goals came from beyond the arc also, meaning he shot 9-of-10 from inside the three-point line.
