Watch: Warriors rookie puts Victor Wembanyama on a poster
Warriors rookie power forward Trayce Jackson-Davis may have just gotten banned from France.
In Golden State's 112-102 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, Jackson-Davis recorded a thunderous slam dunk over the massive 7-foot-4 rookie French phenom Victor Wembanyama.
The likely Rookie of the Year guarded Jackson-Davis at the 3-point line, forcing the former Indiana Hoosier to his left. He got past Wembanyama, who recovered nicely and would have had a highlight block against anyone without Jackson-Davis's absurd athleticism.
It wasn't the only time Jackson-Davis, drafted in the second round (57th overall) of last year's draft, posterized a Spurs defender. In the third quarter, he did the same to forward Jeremy Sochan.
Wembanyama took being on the receiving end of Jackson-Davis's monster dunk in stride, saying afterward, "Getting dunked on is nothing. It's part of the game," before adding, "But I think I block more often than I get dunked on, so that's positive."
Wembanyama leads the league in blocks (3.4 per game) and averaged 5.6 over his last nine games before Monday evening. He finished with two against Golden State but probably wishes he had a third.
