The Washington Wizards went into Thanksgiving on a sour note. The Wizards were blown out by the woeful New Orleans Pelicans Wednesday night 127-102.

Following the game, Bradley Beal admitted that head coach Wes Unseld Jr. was not pleased with the team’s efforts.

“For the first time Coach [Unseld Jr.] came in and cussed us the hell out, at halftime and after the game,” Beal told reporters per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington.

The Pelicans jumped out to a 17-5 lead at the start of the game and never looked back. New Orleans built a 22-point halftime and led by as many as 31 in the game. Washington never led in the game.

Unseld said “the starting group has struggled.”

The Wizards shot a dismal 7-of-31 (22.6%) from three. Beal, who led all players with 23 points, was 0-of-4 from behind the arc.

Washington (11-7) has now lost four of their last five games. In their lone win during the stretch, they erased a 10-point deficit in the final five minutes of the game against the Miami Heat.

The Wizards will be back in action Friday at the Oklahoma City Thunder. That will be the first game of a back-to-back, as they’ll face the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.
