The Milwaukee Bucks bounced back after suffering a close loss to the Los Angeles Lakers by defeating the undermanned Los Angeles Clippers, 124-117. Here are two takeaways from the thrilling victory.

Brook Lopez makes 900th career triple

Bucks big man Brook Lopez hit a personal career milestone, making his 900th three-pointer. The 7-footer had only one triple on Sunday, but it came at a crucial time. With Milwaukee’s lead sliced to two, 107-105, with four minutes remaining, Lopez popped out and swished a three-pointer that helped spark the Bucks’ game-deciding run.

After the game, Bucks coach Doc Rivers praised Lopez’s timely make, saying the team needed someone else to step up and convert a big shot with the Clippers’ defense paying attention to superstars Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

“It’s going to take a third player on the other team, at some point, to help,” Rivers said.

“We kept Brook lifted. We kept saying, at some point, someone’s going to leave Brook. And they finally did and Brook made the shot.”

Unselfish superstars

Speaking of superstars, Lillard and Giannis showcased their incredible passing skills on Sunday. The two players almost ended up recording triple-doubles, with Antetokounmpo finishing with 34 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds and Dame getting 35 points, 11 dimes, and seven boards. It was also the second game in a row that the dynamic duo had at least 10 assists each.

“They are very unselfish,” Rivers said.

“They know that they’re in the action, but they know it’s team action. So, they’re just making the simple pass to the open guy.”
