It is very often forgotten who the last best point guard was to play for the Washington Wizards. In fact, it is sometimes forgotten who the greatest point guard to ever play for the Wizards was too.

It may not come as a surprise if many feel that this may be an easy question or even thought - John Wall. No doubt, he has been a beloved player to ever play for the Washington Wizards. As a matter of fact, he may be the only Wizards guard that have many highlights on Youtube. John Wall was definitely something special to see in The District. However, injuries let him down in the end.

Many may have considered Gilbert Arenas. He certainly was before his time in his era in the NBA. He was Steph Curry before Steph Curry was Steph Curry. Gilbert had something special about his game that offered a bit of swag and charisma to him and the game of basketball. However, an unfortunate situation regarding a legal matter ended his tenure with the Wizards which ultimately resulted in him falling out of the league.

This may come as a surprise to many but the best and greatest point guard to ever play for the Washington Wizards is Russell Westbrook. He was the very last point guard to lead this team to the playoffs. Ever since his departure from the Wizards, this team just hasn’t been quite the same. He was and still is a triple double machine when given the opportunity. Ever since he was traded to the LA Lakers, his numbers hasn’t been what they used to be as he has been forced into different roles.

While things didn’t work out with the Lakers, he now finds himself with the Clippers. The Lakers move was a disaster as many felt he was the missing piece there next to Lebron James and Anthony Davis. Everyone on the Lakers team will now admit that bringing him in wasn’t the best decision and it was a move they all felt was misjudged.

The Lakers and Wizards are two of the worst teams in the league at the moment. While it didn’t work out for the Wizards or Lakers in the long run with the partnership of Russell Westbrook, it certainly seems to be working out quite well with the Clippers as they have one of the best records in the NBA. The Clippers have been playing some inspired basketball with Russell Westbrook as they look to be a title contender. They seem to all be getting along as the chemistry is at an all time high now. Most importantly, they are winning and Russell Westbrook is a huge part of that reason why too. Russell Westbrook has the last laugh now as both the Wizards and Lakers may have made a mistake in trading the future Hall of Famer.
