The Milwaukee Bucks are a veteran-led team that leans into their experience to contend for a title every season. So much so that they’ve had little use for any of their young prospects. Despite that, talented small forward Marjon Beauchamp still managed to make a name for himself in his rookie season, where he carved out a role in the rotation and even started 11 games.

It is for this reason and so much more that Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report believes that the Yakima Valley Community College product is the Bucks’ most tantalizing prospect.

Made an impact

While Beauchamp's rookie statistics (5.1 points on 39 percent shooting, 2.2 rebounds) may not have been mind-blowing, Bailey acknowledged his significant contribution as a defender due to his size and length. This was precisely what the Bucks required at that time.

“While his numbers were predictably rookie-like (his box plus/minus was way below replacement level), his frame (6'6" with a 7'0" wingspan) makes him an intriguing defensive option on the wing,” Bailey wrote.

Improvements still needed

Beauchamp has been making waves this off-season. He has clearly put in the work and recently showcased the fruits of his labor with an 83-point explosion in the Crawsover League.

“If he can get to average as a three-point shooter and dip his toe a bit further into the playmaking waters (something he did during the 2023 Las Vegas Summer League), Beauchamp has a chance to be a rotation player,” Bailey noted. “And while that may not sound super optimistic, it's not unusual for a team in the Bucks' position to not have a potential superstar under the age of 24.”
