Wizards' All-Star Bradley Beal says 'a lot' of players are recruiting him

Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal has some big decisions this offseason.

The 28-year-old three-time All-Star has a player option for the 2022-23 season in his contract with the Wizards and must decide to stay or opt out for a free agent payday.

On Saturday, at a ribbon-cutting event in Washington, Beal spoke with the AP's Noah Trister about his future with the Wizards and his health after undergoing left wrist surgery.

While Beal was largely mum surrounding his future, he's aware they'll be interest from around the league if he were to hit the free agent market. Beal said "a lot" of players have tried to recruit him while adding slyly, "You know I can't give you names."

Beal also gave an update on his left wrist. In February, Beal had season-ending surgery to repair a torn ligament in the wrist. On Saturday, he said recovery was going well, and he has back 80-90% of his range of motion.

"The rest is going to be strengthening and stuff," Beal said. "I'm cleared to do stuff on the court now, which is good."

Beal has spent all 10 seasons of his NBA career in Washington, drafted by the Wizards with the No. 3 pick in the 2012 draft.

Beal has played 645 games with the Wizards, averaging 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
