The Washington Wizards have gotten their very first win under new Interim Head Coach Brian Keefe. They were able to knock off the Detroit Pistons in a 118-104 win on the road. Kyle Kuzma had the hot hand and they are hoping they can duplicate that win and bit of success as they are once again on the road taking on yet another team who hasn’t been able to put things all together this year either, the San Antonio Spurs. Tonight poses as yet another game the Wizards should have marked as a win on their calendar. With that being said, we know no games are easy this season for the Wizards. However, with the change in coaching, they are hoping to gain some momentum after Keefe’s first win as Interim Head Coach for the Wizards.

The Bottom Line

Taking on Victor Wembanyama is one of the toughest assignments currently in the NBA. He is so tall and so talented and does so many things well, there’s really not much you can do to slow him down. With that being the case, the Wizards must focus on everyone else. The Wizards must focus on what they can do in this game. One thing they need to do is get Kyle Kuzma going early. He obviously is their big dog and he needs to bite in this game. He has been hot lately so they need to keep him that way.

They also need to keep Wemby away from the basket. Doing so will keep him off the boards. They particularly need to make sure he is off the offensive glass so he won’t give the Spurs second chances opportunities. Lastly, they need to lock in on Devin Vassell. He is like a microwave because once he gets hot it’s hard to cool him off. Tonight is a very winnable game for the Wizards as they are hoping for a momentum swing with Brian Keefe in making two straight wins for the first time all season.
