Wizards sign Alex Len, Jordan Bell ahead of matchup with Spurs

The shorthanded Washington Wizards have signed free-agent centers Alex Len and Jordan Bell ahead of Sunday's matchup with the San Antonio Spurs, the team announced.

Injuries and COVID-19 have decimated the Wizards roster. Washington's last six games have been postponed, and the team hasn't played since Jan. 11 against the Phoenix Suns.

Six Wizards players have tested positive for COVID-19, and three others were sidelined due to contact tracing.

Len has averaged 7.9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game while shooting 49.5% from the field and 33.7% from deep across eight seasons with the Suns, Atlanta Hawks, Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors.

Meanwhile, Bell has averaged 3.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 56.3% from the field and 22.2% from deep across three seasons with the Golden State Warriors, Minnesota Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies.
