Wizards, Trail Blazers land in NBA history book in the worst way

The 2023-24 NBA season has provided multiple unique and historical performances from various players. This includes San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama, who seems to make NBA history every few days with how well he's played of late. But the Washington Wizards and Portland Trail Blazers found their way into the NBA history book for accomplishing something no franchise wants listed next to its name.

February featured the two teams going a combined 0-21, with the Wizards posting an 0-12 mark and the Blazers going 0-9. This marked only the third time in NBA history that multiple teams went winless in a single month when playing at least five games, as The Athletic revealed.

But to make matters worse, this also marks Washington's second stint as one of the multiple teams that failed to pick up a win in a single month. The Wizards went 0-6 in April 2022 and were joined by the Indiana Pacers and Houston Rockets, who were both 0-5.

It's been a tough year for the two franchises, and the Wizards are currently tied with the fewest wins in the NBA, holding a 9-50 record, just slightly below the Detroit Pistons (9-49). They've also lost 13 games in a row heading into March.

As for the Blazers, their 15-42 mark checks in just narrowly ahead of the Charlotte Hornets, giving them the fifth-worst record in the NBA. The Hornets have two more losses, but the teams are tied with 15 wins apiece.
