Everyone expected the Utah Jazz to be one of the worst teams in the NBA this year.
That may end up being the case and the Jazz could sit at the bottom of the West when 2022-23 comes to a close.
But there is no doubt that their season got off to a great start the other night.
The team shocked analysts, fans, and just about everyone when they conquered the Denver Nuggets in a terrific season opener.
The entire team was shining, with seven players from the Jazz scoring double-digits.
One of Utah’s best stars was a new recruit looking to reclaim his glory in the league and remind fans of his skill and promise.
Collin Sexton had a terrific game, scoring 20 points with 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
He did all of this as a bench player, putting in 20 minutes.
In one powerful moment, Sexton sized up none other than Nikola Jokic, sped past him, and made his way to the bucket.
This was an incredible start to Sexton’s time with Utah.
Sexton Searching For Success
Sexton is a wonderful player with a career average of 20 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
The fact that the Jazz were able to land him in the blockbuster Donovan Mitchell trade during the summer is impressive.
Sexton wasn’t sent away from the Cavaliers because he was underperforming, he just didn’t have a place with the team after they changed directions during his absence.
After Utah’s opening game, Sexton looks like even more of a steal.
Will we see more nights like this one from Sexton in the months ahead?
Fans of the Jazz are hoping so.
Most people thought the Jazz would be tanking from the start of the season.
Sexton and the rest of his crew obviously didn’t get the memo.
