Bradley Beal finalized his contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday. Following that decision, it was revealed that Beal signed a two-year, $11 million contract to join the Los Angeles Clippers . For the L.A. team, it’s an upgrade at the shooting guard spot after they traded Norman Powell to the Miami Heat. For Beal, it’s a fresh start after his underwhelming two-year stint with the Suns.

During his time in Phoenix, the organization attempted to make him fit in with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. However, all three stars are most effective when they have the ball in their hands. The coaches’ attempts to create a cohesive attack with the three players were hampered by this.

Additionally, Beal dealt with various injuries that limited him to just 106 games. With the Suns, the three-time All-Star averaged 17.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists. His star trio with Booker and Durant also only made one playoff appearance and didn’t win a game.

There is some interest in what the Clippers anticipate from him, given his future duo squad with Kawhi Leonard and James Harden. Sportskeeda’s Mark Medina talked to Beal’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, who revealed that L.A. expects him to play like an All-Star and have a level of impact when it comes to winning.

“They want him to be the best version of Brad,” Bartelstein said. “They want to turn him lose. They expect him to play like an All-Star and impact winning. It’s about impacting winning on both ends of the floor at the highest level. The messaging is they want the very best and everything that Brad has to give.”

Bradley Beal hasn’t been considered an All-Star for the past four seasons due to injuries. However, he’s shown that he can perform at a high level at times and play like a star player.

The Clippers want Bradley Beal to be an aggressive and dynamic player

Along with Harden and Leonard, Bradley Beal created a sort of star triumvirate when he joined the Clippers. And like most Big 3s, there’s always someone who will take a step back and sacrifice a lot for the team. For the California team, it wouldn’t be the two-time Finals MVP. He’s been with the team for five seasons and has become the face of the franchise following the Lob City Clippers.

It also won’t be Harden, since he’s the second option on the team. This means that Beal is likely the one to take a backseat among the three stars. However, the Clippers reportedly want the most aggressive and dynamic version of the three-time All-Star, according to his agent.

“Brad’s always going to play the right way. Brad’s not someone that goes into a game thinking he was to take a certain amount of shots,” his agent said. “He just wants to be heavily involved… But the Clippers want the most aggressive and dynamic version of Brad. That’s music to his ears.”

It will be an interesting sight to see how Bradley Beal will play alongside Harden and Leonard.
