Bulls All-Star center Nikola Vucevic tests positive for COVID-19

The Chicago Bulls were already without one starting member of their frontcourt, and now, their prized big man acquisition from last season, Nikola Vucevic, is going to miss at least 10 days after testing positive for COVID-19.

After one season with the Philadelphia 76ers and a wildly successful 8.5-season run with the Orlando Magic, Vucevic was traded to the Bulls as a part of a massive deal in March. Vucevic earned All-Star nods in two of the last three seasons, including last year when he posted a career-high 23.4 points per game and averaged 11.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 33.5 minutes across 70 contests.

With newcomers Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan along with holdover Zach LaVine doing the bulk of the scoring, Vucevic has posted just 13.6 points per game this year through 11 contests.

The Bulls do hope to get back point guard Coby White in the near future. He was assigned to the G League earlier this week. Chicago is 8-3 this season and takes on the 10-1 Golden State Warriors at 10 p.m. ET on Friday.
