While the NBA Finals are in full effect, the madness that is the NBA offseason has commenced. Recent reports from The Ringer indicate the Chicago Bulls have emerged as a potential trade destination for Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert. Bleacher Report added that a trade would likely include Bulls’ center Nikola Vucevic and former No. 4 overall pick Patrick Williams.

From a Bulls’ perspective, including Vucevic as the centerpiece of a potential deal for Gobert makes sense. But what does not is adding Williams to the mix.

Patrick Williams was Arturas Karnisovas’s first draft pick as Chicago Bulls’ VP of Basketball Operations. Are the Bulls willing to part ways with their former top-five selection after two years?

That scenario seems highly unlikely, especially considering Williams’ limited sample size. After an adjustment-filled rookie season, he only played 17 games in 2021-22 due to a wrist injury he suffered early in the campaign.

Furthermore, Chicago has shied away from moving Williams previously. Ahead of the 2022 trade deadline, the second-year forward was a focal point of several rumors. But Karnisovas and the Bulls brass made it clear they wanted to retain Williams and ended up standing pat.

As offseason rumors and proposals continue to fly, who would you like to see the Bulls target? Let us know on Twitter.
