The jump from college to the NBA isn’t easy and rookies have viral moments in which the best players welcome them to the league every year. Paolo Banchero got to experience one of those "welcome to the NBA" moments before he even played in an official game.
Dejounte Murray and Banchero were part of a game at Isaiah Thomas’ Zeke-End tournament in Tacoma, and there was one notable moment when Murray faked out Banchero, threw it off the backboard, dunked it, got in his face and threw the ball.

After the game, Murray posted the video to his Instagram account and told Banchero “WELCOME TO THE BIG LEAGUES!!!!!!”
Then, Banchero posted the clip to his Instagram Story and revealed that he saw Murray unfollowed him on the social media platform. Banchero called Murray out for this but made it a point to call him family.

It didn’t end there because Murray responded and he seems to be upset with Banchero. The new Hawks guard thinks Banchero changed after becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and while both of them go way back (both are from Seattle), Murray said Banchero is no longer a “humble kid,” and “I lost all respect.”

Only they know if anything specific happened between them that led to this, but the four games the Hawks and Magic will play this season are now can’t-miss contests.
