D-Wade gets very honest about Stephen Curry's bad shots

Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade has never been shy.

Whether he’s settling the Michael Jordan vs. LeBron debate once and for all or other weighing in on other topics, you can always count on Wade for 100% transparency.

It was more of the same this week.

Recently, Wade spoke to Robby Kalland of Uproxx and offered some interesting insights, particularly as they pertain to Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.

“Right. I don’t know about you — you’ve been watching basketball for a long time,” he said.

“I’ve been playing and watching for a long time. But the stuff I see Steph Curry do, I’d be like, there’s no way, there’s no way them shots are going in and they be cash. I mean, how?

“I’d be like, how? But, in my mind, I’m like, it doesn’t really make sense. The fact that he can shoot like that and them is what we would call, ‘bad shots.’ In our generation, that are bad shots. But for him, they are his shots.”

Wade isn’t the first retired star to offer a glowing review of Curry’s game. Shaquille O’Neal has said something similar in the past.

“I used to hate on him early on in his career,” O’Neal famously said. “(I’d say), ‘He ain’t gonna make that,’ but he kept proving me wrong and that’s why he’s my best player. I like being proved wrong, so my message to these young cats: When I say something, prove me wrong.”

Now, O'Neal regards Curry as one of the most influential basketball players of all time.

“Steph probably is the most influential player when it comes to little people, right? ‘Cause I see a lot of little guards – like little kids – I’m going to these tournaments, they’re doing stuff I can’t even do,” he continued.

Curry is coming off a tremendous season, but failed to make the playoffs for the second straight year.

Will his fortunes change in 2021-22? Time will tell.
