Jordan, of course, wore No. 23, which aligns with the date 2/3/23. For the international audience, ESPN should wait until March 2 to celebrate the greatest basketball player of all time.
According to ESPN, the day's coverage includes tributes to Jordan on ESPN and ACC Network. Jordan played collegiately at North Carolina, a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and with the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards in the NBA.
Highlight packages will air on ESPN studio shows including "Get Up," "First Take" and "NBA Today," as well as the several different editions of "SportsCenter" throughout the day.
The ACC Network is scheduled to air four games from Jordan's time with the Tar Heels, beginning with the first college game of his career and ending with his final home game.
Jordan's legacy in sports is untouched. He won six NBA Finals and was named Finals MVP in all of his championship seasons.
His six championship-round MVPs are one more than recently retired NFL QB Tom Brady has and is the most in any sport.
Tom Brady won a record 5 Super Bowl MVP Awards.

Jordan averaged 30.1 points a game during his career and never finished a season averaging less than 20 points per game.
He retired from basketball in 2002 after 15 seasons, widely hailed as the best basketball player there ever was.
On Friday -- "Michael Jordan Day" -- we'll be reminded of the greatness of "His Airness" once again.
