Bronny James’ golf swing has started a new round of jokes about whether his best sporting path might not be basketball after all.

The Los Angeles Lakers guard has become a viral offseason topic after showing off a smooth swing that surprised fans and former players.

One ex-NBA guard took the reaction even further, telling Bronny it may be time to think about going pro in another sport.

Brandon Jennings tells Bronny James to go pro after Los Angeles Lakers guard shows off golf swing

Brandon Jennings reacted to a clip of Bronny James’ golf swing by urging the Los Angeles Lakers guard to lean into the sport.

Jennings wrote, “It’s time, Bronny! That swing is insane! GO PRO.”

The comment worked because the swing looked far more polished than many expected from a basketball player still early in his golf journey.

Bronny’s form has been praised for its balance, rhythm, and smooth follow-through, with the clip quickly turning into a social media talking point.

The joke also landed because Bronny’s basketball career is still being picked apart constantly, while his golf swing drew a much warmer reaction almost instantly.

Bronny James golf buzz grows as Los Angeles Lakers development remains under scrutiny

The bigger context is that Bronny’s golf rise has become another way for fans to debate his overall athletic ceiling.

He previously appeared in a golf video with Grant Horvat, where he said he had been playing seriously for only a few months and claimed his best 18-hole score was 81.

That detail sparked plenty of skepticism from golf fans, but it also made the swing look even more impressive if the timeline is accurate. Bronny remains a Lakers guard first, splitting time between Los Angeles and South Bay while trying to build toward a steadier NBA role.

His G League development has shown progress, particularly with confidence and perimeter shooting, but every step of his basketball career still comes with heavy public judgment because of the James name.

Jennings’ post was clearly playful, but it captured the internet’s reaction. Bronny may still be chasing an NBA future, but his golf swing gave people a different talent to obsess over.
