Four-time All-Star forward Paul Millsap signs with Brooklyn Nets

Free-agent power forward Paul Millsap has agreed to terms with the Brooklyn Nets, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported early Thursday morning. The report was confirmed by Millsap's agent, DeAngelo Simmons.

Details of the deal have not yet been released.

Millsap, 36, is coming off of a four-season stint with the Denver Nuggets. He played a big role for the Nuggets in 2020 when the team made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals but played a reduced role last season while averaging 9.0 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Despite registering his lowest points average since earlier in his career, Millsap is expected to rebound as he joins a veteran-heavy squad in the Nets.

Where exactly Millsap fills into the Nets game plan is yet to be seen, although it is clear right off the bat he gives them some depth. The 15-year veteran is joining an arsenal that includes Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden, a group that got bit hard by the injury bug as last season's playoffs went on.

Millsap may be playing more of a rotational role than a starting five role, but he will definitely give Brooklyn some healthy help off of the bench as they compete with the championship-winning Milwaukee Bucks to be the best team in the Eastern Conference.
