Giannis Antetokounmpo fills stat sheet despite Greece's loss at EuroBasket

Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo was ejected with just under five minutes remaining in Greece's EuroBasket quarterfinals loss to Germany at on Tuesday, but he went out with an impressive showing.

Antetokounmpo finished with 31 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals, shooting 13-of-22 from the field. Despite his ejection, Antetokounmpo's 31 points led all scorers in the game, and his 8 assists were tied with Germany's Dennis Schroder. 

Greece took a four-point lead into halftime but struggled offensively in the second half, scoring just 10 third quarter points. Despite not allowing 90+ points in any game before today, the defense surrendered 106 to Germany. 

While Greece won't won its first EuroBasket medal since 2009, Antetokounmpo posted impressive numbers over six games. The two-time NBA MVP averaged 29.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game. He struggled from three-point range in the tournament, shooting just 20 percent from behind the arc, but he bullied the competition in the paint. 

Germany, led by Dennis Schroder and Franz Wagner, will face Spain in the semifinals on Friday. Antetokounmpo and the Bucks open their season in five short weeks.
