Golden State Warriors coach sang high praise of Chris Manon

Despite being an unproven guard, Manon managed to earn immense praise from Warriors coach Lainn Wilson.

So much so that Wilson hailed Manon as a ‘game changer’ for the Warriors during their 2025 Summer League campaign.

“He’s a game changer. He can just impact the game in so many other ways and kind of be a spark where he’s causing live-ball turnovers on the open floor, and that turns into automatic transition buckets for us.

“That can really help you flip that game,” Wilson said in a July 07, 2025, interview (h/t Sports Illustrated).

After receiving this praise, Manon dropped 8 points, 3 steals, and 2 blocks against the LA Lakers in the California Classic Summer League matchup.

However, that was just the start of Manon’s rise in the pre-season tournament.

Fast forward to now, and Manon continues to show signs of excellence in the competition, despite the Warriors suffering an 81-69 loss at the hands of the Toronto Raptors.

Sure, the Warriors were completely outplayed by the Raptors, but Manon still led his team in scoring with 14 points to his name.

The 23-year-old also had 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks in just 22 minutes of playing time. The only concerning aspect about the game was his 4-of-10 shooting from the field.

However, it shouldn’t worry the Warriors too much as Manon was a 53.5% shooter during his four-year stint in the NCAA.
