Golden State Warriors Will Not Make Any Trade This Season, Say NBA Insiders

The Golden State Warriors came into the 2022-23 season as one of the favorites for the title. The defending champions looked primed for another successful season with all the talent on their roster, but they've greatly underperformed so far.

The Warriors find themselves with a 20-20 record at the moment and at this stage last season, they were 30-10. They have found it difficult to find the right balance between winning games and developing their young talent, which led many to believe that they might trade away their youngsters, who were struggling. It was rumored that James Wiseman, who was sent to the G League, was the most likely player to be traded but the Warriors have stood by the struggling big man. It would also appear that Golden State is planning to ride out the season with the roster they have, as per insiders Brett Siegel and C.J. Holmes.

Brett Siegel: "From the information I have gathered so far, it seems like they are more than willing to sit back and watch other teams make moves unless they truly get an offer that they can't turn down. It just doesn't feel like Wiseman or Kuminga or any of those young guys the Warriors are very high on are really available right now."

C.J. Holmes: "Based on what I am hearing, I don’t envision them making any moves. I don’t think they are ready to give up on the James Wiseman experiment. They have seen the slow progress he has made and Bob Myers’ two-timeline plan is still alive and well. They are riding that thing out.

This two-timeline plan is very hard to execute properly but the Warriors seem confident that they can pull it off. Only time will tell whether it is the right call but this front office has gotten it right a lot more often than not over the last 10-odd years.

Draymond Green Got Real On The Warriors Season So Far

It has been a really peculiar season for the Warriors. They had the best home record in the NBA prior to recent losses to the Detroit Pistons and Orlando Magic, but they also have the worst road record at just 3-16. They also have a  5-game road trip to look forward to from later this week, which isn't ideal at the moment.

Draymond Green called their record on their travels awful but stated that the team is starting to find its identity. He said that is more important than their record and added that every great team has an identity.
