The Atlanta Hawks took on the Miami Heat in their fourth game of the 2021 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, looking to get back to .500 after a 1-2 start. The Hawks were able to take home the 94-90 win in the absence of Sharife Cooper, who was ruled out before tip due to health and safety protocols. Cooper was on the bench during the game, so it’s unclear what the exact reasoning for the absence is.

To little surprise, Jalen Johnson and Skylar Mays led the way in the absence of Cooper, as the duo combined for 51 points in the win.

Johnson posted 25 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and a highlight-reel block, further impressing and looking like perhaps the biggest steal of the 2021 NBA Draft. Today, Johnson was showing the full arsenal, making three of his six three point attempts.

He was also again active defensively:

Mays had 26 points and nine assists as he picked up more ball-handling duties with Cooper missing the game.

DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell had 18 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds in the win, continuing his strong play this Summer.

Max Strus led Miami with 24 points.

The Hawks will take on the New York Knicks Monday at 7 pm ET for their final game of the 2021 NBA Summer League.

Stay tuned.
