‘I was excited’… Josh Hart thrilled New York Knicks have signed his former LA Lakers teammate

Josh Hart is looking forward to reuniting with an LA Lakers teammate on the New York Knicks.

The New York Knicks are looking to capitalize on the crumbling state of the Eastern Conference. Massive injuries to Jayson Tatum, Damian Lillard (now back in Portland), and Tyrese Haliburton have cracked the East wide open.

The Knicks’ three biggest rivals in the NBA lost their best players to Achilles injuries. Which means they have a wide open path to the NBA Finals.

While the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, and Atlanta Hawks are set to be much better next season, none of them has the playoff experience that this Knicks squad does.

To add to that, the Knicks also made some big changes this offseason. The Knicks hired Mike Brown as their next head coach.

And in free agency, the Knicks signed Guerschon Yabusele to add to their depth. But it is the signing of a former LA Lakers teammate that has Josh Hart excited about next season.

Josh Hart excited by reunion with ‘great addition’ Jordan Clarkson

Josh Hart spoke with Jalen Brunson on The Roommates Show about the New York Knicks’ offseason moves. When talking about the Knicks signing Jordan Clarkson, Hart had nothing but praise for him.

Specifically, it’s Clarkson’s scoring, veteran experience, and work ethic that make him a great addition to the Knicks.

“I was excited. I mean, great dude, gonna fit right into the culture that we have, obviously, something that can create his own shot.

“[Clarkson] can break down the defense, and we needed at times, you know, last year. So it would be a great addition in terms of role. And also as a locker room guy.”

Clarkson and Hart played together on the Lakers during his rookie season, and will now get to compete for a championship together.

Jordan Clarkson brings valuable bench scoring to New York Knicks

Josh Hart is right about the core values that Jordan Clarkson will bring to the New York Knicks. But make no mistake about it; it’s his scoring that the Knicks desperately need.

Last season, the Knicks were a strong team offensively. However, they were very top-heavy, with few players who came off the bench putting up big numbers.

Players like Miles McBride would occasionally have strong scoring nights. But for the most part, the Knicks relied on Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and even OG Anunoby to score the ball.

Clarkson can become a reliable leader for the Knicks’ bench unit and can take a massive load off their starters’ shoulders.

And with Yabusele taking on a more advanced role, the Knicks could be a serious threat to reach the NBA Finals next season.
