LA Lakers star Jake LaRavia has hit back at disrespect from Anthony Edwards.
While Austin Reaves scored the spectacular game winner for the LA Lakers against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he had a little help.
Jake LaRavia scored 27 points against the Timberwolves, his best performance for the Lakers, with Austin Reaves claiming it was his best game ever.
One player was surprised, however. Opposing star Anthony Edwards was sidelined with injury, but he was heard courtside asking ‘Who’s 12?’.
Edwards was stunned by LaRavia’s performance, and tellingly, he did not know his name.
Jake LaRavia posted on Instagram in the wake of the LA Lakers’ win, and made reference to Anthony Edwards’ taunt.
LaRavia wrote: “who’s number 12”, with a shrug emoji, showing that he clearly learned about what Edwards had said.
LaRavia’s message caught the attention of his LA Lakers teammate, with star man Luka Doncic ‘liking’ his message.
Jarred Vanderbilt commented by noting that the Timberwolves certainly know all about Jake LaRavia now, writing: “Bet they know now.”
Teammates Austin Reaves and Christian Koloko also reached out to show their support for Reaves.
Lakers head coach JJ Redick praised Jake LaRavia’s performance and called it a ‘reference point’ for him moving forward.
LaRavia was also praised by Lakers’ legend James Worthy, who told Spectrum that he is delighted with the free agency signing’s contribution.
“He knows his game and is not afraid to take the shot. Understands the moment. He’s new here with the Lakers, but I think he’s adjusting very well.”
