The Dallas Mavericks were without star guard Luka Doncic again Monday night, but Jalen Brunson was all the team needed for a 110-104 win against the Utah Jazz in Game 2. The first-round series between the teams is now tied.
Brunson, 25, scored 41 points against the Jazz with eight rebounds and five assists to lead Dallas to victory. Brunson's previous career-high in a game was 34 points and he also hit a career-best six three-pointers.

Doncic led the Mavericks in points, assists, rebounds and steals during the regular season, but suffered a calf injury during the team's regular season finale. While Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd says Doncic has been progressing well from the injury, it wasn't a surprise that he was unavailable Monday.
The Mavericks lost 99-93 on Saturday in Game 1 with Brunson leading the team with 24 points and seven rebounds. That wasn't enough to keep pace with the 32 points scored by Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell or the 26 points scored by Bojan Bogdanovic.
On Monday, Mitchell led the Jazz with 34 points and Bogdanovic scored 25. Game 3 in Utah is scheduled for Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
