Jazz interview 76ers assistant Sam Cassell for HC job

The Utah Jazz reportedly threw yet another name into the ring on Wednesday as they continue their search for a new head coach.

One week ago, it was reported that the Jazz were expected to interview the likes of Frank Vogel and Lamar Skeeter. Quin Snyder stepped down as Utah's head coach in early June after eight seasons.

Cassell played 15 seasons in the NBA from 1993 to 2008 with eight different teams, making one All-Star team and winning three championships. The former point guard spent time as an assistant with the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Clippers before joining Doc Rivers' bench with the Philadelphia 76ers' two years ago.

The Jazz also reportedly requested permission to interview Miami Heat assistant Chris Quinn last week. Since suiting up for 241 career NBA games over six years with four different clubs, Quinn has become Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra's longest-tenured assistant, sitting on the bench since 2014.
