Jimmy Butler Sets Record in Warriors Home Debut in Front of Andre Iguodala

The Golden State Warriors have looked like one of the better teams in the NBA after acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat.

The new trio of Butler, Steph Curry and Draymond Green had guided the Warriors to a 5-1 record since Butler's debut, all of which came on the road.

On Sunday, Butler made his home debut at Chase Center, and the Warriors made a statement with a 126-102 win over Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks, their sixth win in seven games. The Mavericks were missing their trade deadline acquisition, Anthony Davis, who was part of the deal that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers.

With Davis out due to an adductor strain he suffered in his Dallas debut, Golden State's new trio was able to take over, combining for 61 points, 18 assists, 11 rebounds and four steals.

In the win, marking the third straight for Golden State, Butler was able to make a bit of team history, walking away tied with Andre Iguodala for the highest plus/minus in a Warriors home debut in history, according to StatMamba on X. This happened in the very same game the Warriors retired Iguodala's No. 9 jersey.

"Jimmy Butler had the highest +/- in a home debut in Warriors franchise history."

For comparison, when Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant made his home debut for Golden State during the 2016-17 NBA season, he finished with a plus/minus of minus-13 in a 129-100 loss to Kawhi Leonard and the San Antonio Spurs.

Iguodala was able to initially break the plus/minus Warriors home debut record at the beginning of the 2013-14 season with plus-28 in a 125-94 win over Pau Gasol and the Lakers. "Iggy" had seven points, four rebounds and four assists in his debut with Golden State.

Butler finished his Warriors home debut with 18 points, three rebounds and five assists. He and Golden State will be back in action on Tuesday, facing LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets.
