Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals at Chase Center had it all—big plays, tight calls, and… a passionate courtside makeout?
While Jimmy Butler was deep in conversation with a referee, the real action, at least according to the internet, was happening just behind him. A couple of Golden State Warriors fans were caught on the live broadcast sharing an intimate smooch during a critical moment in the game.
The clip, posted by Zero Gravity on X (formerly Twitter), quickly went viral. “A couple in the back making out during Wolves-Warriors
,” read the caption. The video, which initially focused on Butler arguing a call, panned just enough to capture the couple locking lips right in the middle of the broadcast frame.
Romance aside, it wasn’t a happy ending for the Warriors. Despite holding a narrow lead at the end of the third quarter, Golden State fell short, losing 102-97 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle stepped up big for Minnesota, giving the Wolves a 2-1 series lead and a chance to go up 3-1 before heading back home.
Despite pouring in 33 points, Jimmy Butler wasn’t in the mood to celebrate his performance after the loss.
Speaking to reporters postgame, Butler emphasized that individual stats mean nothing if they don’t translate to wins.
“I don’t care how many shots I shoot. I don’t care how many points I score—if it’s not towards winning, none of that ever matters,” he said. “Next time, it has to be in a win.”
With Steph Curry sidelined, the pressure is on Butler to keep the Warriors alive in Game 4. Whether fans are focused on the court or the courtside romance, one thing’s clear—Golden State can’t afford another slip.
