The New York Knicks were at home on Monday night as they looked to take a commanding lead in their second-round series against the Boston Celtics.
Early on, it looked as though the Knicks were headed toward another blowout loss like they suffered in Game 3 on their home court as the Celtics carried an 11-point lead after the first quarter.
Boston was able to carry that 11-point lead into halftime but New York was able to flip a switch in the second half as they stormed from behind to grab the lead at the end of the third quarter.
New York would never look back as they were able to close out Game 4 with a crucial victory that now gives them a 3-1 lead in the series with a chance to clinch it in Boston on Wednesday night in Game 5.
Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks in Monday’s victory as he recorded 39 points, five rebounds and 12 assists.
New York also saw both Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby score 20 or more points in the win while Karl-Anthony Towns recorded 23 points and 11 rebounds on 11-of-15 shooting from the field.
While Brunson was the headliner for the Knicks in Game 4, Towns also came through big down the stretch, leading him to make Knicks playoff history.
With his 23 points on 73.3% shooting from the field to go along with 11 rebounds, Towns became the first player in Knicks playoff history to record multiple 20-point, 10-rebounds games on 70% or better shooting from the field.

This is an impressive feat for the star center, especially with the amount of star power the Knick have had over the history of their franchise.
Towns and the Knicks will now head back to Boston for Game 5 on Wednesday night as they look to close out the series against the Celtics, who will likely be without their star forward Jayson Tatum after he suffered a non-contact injury late in the fourth quarter of Game 4.
