The New York Knicks have won every game at home this season except for their contest against the Orlando Magic on Nov. 12, and Sunday's rematch gives them a chance at revenge.
The Knicks are coming off a 146-112 win over the Utah Jazz on Friday, spearheaded by Jalen Brunson's 33 points (9-17 FG, 6-9 3-point). Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points (5-11 FG, 4-6 3-point) with nine rebounds, four assists, and one steal over 22 minutes.
Towns has been relentless on the glass for New York this season, as he ranks second in the NBA with 11.9 rebounds per game. However, the Knicks revealed an injury update about the 30-year-old on Saturday, via the NBA injury report.
Towns is "questionable" for Sunday's game with left calf tightness. The seven-foot, 248-pounder worked with trainers on his calf in the third quarter of Friday's game, per ClutchPoints' Kris Pursiainen.
Towns has yet to miss a game this season and played 72 last year, his first with the Knicks.
Mike Brown was asked after last night's game about Karl-Anthony Towns working with trainers on his calf in 3Q. It was news to him & team PR: both said they had not heard anything like that.

Towns has now been listed as QUESTIONABLE tomorrow against the Magic with a calf injury
Beating Orlando without Towns would be difficult for New York, as he's second on the team in points per game (22.5), leads in rebounds, and is fourth in assists (3.4). However, the Knicks must weigh the importance of that game against the risk of the former Kentucky Wildcat aggravating the injury.
Towns has had several ailments over his career. For example, the New Jersey native tore his left meniscus in March 2024 and sprained his thumb this past January. He also played through a Grade 2 quad strain in October, per ESPN.
Given that Towns has an injury history, the Knicks may be best off resting him until he feels better. If the veteran big man aggravates the injury and misses an extended period, they could fall down the Eastern Conference standings.
New York currently sits at No. 2 in the East at 15-7, 2.5 games behind the Detroit Pistons. It's one game ahead of the Toronto Raptors and 1.5 games ahead of the Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat.
After the Orlando game, New York will face Toronto and the Indiana Pacers on the road. After that, it will host the Philadelphia 76ers and the Heat.
Tip-off will be at 12:00 p.m. ET at Madison Square Garden on Sunday. The game will be televised on MSG Network.
