Kyle Lowry reportedly favors 76ers if he is traded by Toronto

The Toronto Raptors have managed to turn their season around after an abysmal 2-8 start but could the team still be looking to trade Kyle Lowry? Yes, according to some sources, who believe the Raptors might want to trade their longtime point guard, who is due to become an unrestricted free agent after the season.

And if Lowry is indeed on the trading block, it looks like the Philadelphia 76ers may be the front-runner to land the six-time All-Star, as there is apparently mutual interest between Lowry and the 76ers.

"A source said Lowry would like to be in Philly," wrote The Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey. "The source believes the Sixers and Raptors might be able to get something done. But if it comes to that, Toronto would most likely want some picks, young players, and veterans with expiring contracts for Lowry, who’s making $30 million this season."

If he is really willing to leave the team where he built his career, Lowry's interest in the 76ers makes a ton of sense. They currently hold the top seed in the Eastern Conference, not to mention that he grew up in Philadelphia.

And for the 76ers, while they are enjoying a great season thanks to MVP-level play from Joel Embiid, they could still use a reliable point guard to help guide the offense. The big question will likely be if the 76ers are willing to pay the price to add Lowry with no guarantee that he'll be with the team beyond this season.
