Coming on the heels of a Rookie of the Year campaign, LaMelo Ball is setting his sights on winning a championship.
In a GQ interview in which he pulls no punches, the Charlotte Hornets point guard discusses taking his team to the Finals and winning it all.
“I want to be here for a long time," Ball tells Tyler R. Tynes. "I love the game. I love being around it. This is what I wanted to do with my life.”
Ball, 19, averaged 15.7 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.9 rebounds per game as a rookie. It was a vast improvement for the young hoops prodigy, who was coming off an injury-hampered stint playing for the Illawarra Hawks in Australia.
The Hornets also made the playoffs that season for the first time since 2015-16, even though they lost the first game of the play-in to the Indiana Pacers.
