LaVar Ball’s dream of having all three of his sons playing in the NBA has now come to fruition, and the outspoken leader of the famous basketball family could not be happier.

LiAngelo Ball on Wednesday signed a one-year, non-guaranteed contract with the Detroit Pistons, joining brothers Lonzo (New Orleans Pelicans) and LaMelo (No. 3 pick by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2020 NBA Draft) in the ranks of the Association.

The elder Ball has long insisted that his three sons all playing in the NBA at the same time was inevitable, and he took to Twitter Wednesday evening to proclaim how “proud” he was of their achievements.

While the road to the NBA taken by Lonzo and LaMelo was paved by being lottery picks, LiAngelo had to take a more circuitous route, including a stint last year in the G League after going undrafted in 2018. Either way, LaVar Ball arguably is in a position to boast about his long-proclaimed guarantee getting realized.

“I see my boys, in the near future man, they’re going to be the face of the NBA,” LaVar said in April. “Everybody’s trying to create the big three. They’ve been the big three since they’ve been babies. And people are telling me ‘Man, you know the odds of all three of your boys being on the same team?’ and I say ‘Yeah, probably the same odds of me coming into the NBA with my own brand.’ Don’t tell me nothing about no odds.”

People can say what they want about LaVar Ball, but the man in unquestionably confident and a skilled, if not shameless, self-promoter. After all, Ball has made making completely outrageous and borderline asinine statements his own personal sports media cottage industry over the years.

On this day, however, one can argue that Ball has every right to boast about how proud he is of his three NBA-playing sons.
