Los Angeles Lakers All-Star LeBron James will make his first appearance in a month for Los Angeles today against the Bulls, per Shams Charania of The Athletic (Twitter link).
James had been on the shelf since aggravating a right foot tendon injury against the Mavericks in late February. He has missed 27 games for the Lakers thus far this season. When he has played, he’s looked more or less like vintage LeBron James, at least on offense. He’s averaging 29.5 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 6.9 APG and 0.9 SPG.
A return for James means a demotion for small forward Troy Brown Jr., who had proven himself as a capable starter in his stead. Brown, currently on a one-year, veteran’s minimum deal, will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Dave McMenamin of ESPN tweets that starting L.A. point guard D’Angelo Russell will miss his second straight game with right hip soreness.
