The Los Angeles Clippers are “strongly considering” signing NBA legend Chris Paul.
Paul, who played for the San Antonio Spurs last season, is an unrestricted free agent. He will not re-sign with the Spurs.

Chris Paul played for the Clippers from 2011-17. The legendary point guard has also played for the New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors. He has career averages of 17.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 9.2 assists.
Paul played in all 82 games for the Spurs last season. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 42.7% from the field, 37.7% from beyond the arc and 92.4% from the free-throw line.
The Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in seven games. They traded Norman Powell to the Miami Heat, acquired John Collins from the Utah Jazz and signed Bradley Beal this offseason.
LAC is expected to start James Harden, Beal, Kawhi Leonard, Collins and Ivica Zubac next season. The franchise has never been to the NBA Finals.
Paul went to the NBA Finals in 2021 with the Suns, who lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games despite taking a 2-0 lead in the series.
Harden and Paul were teammates on the Rockets from 2017-19. The future Hall of Famers guided Houston to the 2018 Western Conference Finals, where the Warriors won in seven games.
In the summer of 2019, Houston traded Paul to the Thunder for Russell Westbrook. Harden was believed to be behind the deal, as he no longer wanted to play with Paul.
However, Harden and Paul are believed to be on good terms again.
