The Dallas Mavericks just can't catch a break. They continue to struggle this 2025-26 NBA season, posting a 3-9 record after 12 games played.
Dallas, which has lost its last two outings, recently fired general manager Nico Harrison and is now figuring out how to move forward. To make matters worse, Anthony Davis continues to be sidelined due to his calf injury. AD has missed the Mavericks' last seven games due to the issue.
While Davis has been listed as "Questionable" for their upcoming showdown with the Los Angeles Clippers, it remains uncertain if he'll suit up since he had the same injury designation over the past few contests, only to be ruled out.
As if Dallas' messy situation and health struggles were not enough, another Mavs player landed on the injury report for the Clippers game. Forward PJ Washington was also listed as "Questionable" due to a left shoulder injury.
Washington started for the Mavs during Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns, but he left after just five minutes following his injury. He didn't return, finishing with six points, one steal and one block.
Should Washington be ruled out against the Clippers, it will certainly be a big blow to a Mavericks team that is already thin in the frontcourt.
Along with Davis, young center Dereck Lively II is also sidelined with a right knee injury. That means Dallas' only healthy big men are Daniel Gafford, Dwight Powell and two-way contract player Moussa Cisse.
Washington is averaging 14.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 blocks per game for Dallas this season.
