The Minnesota Timberwolves have suffered a big blow to begin their season.

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards will reportedly miss two weeks with a right hamstring strain.

Edwards was off to a strong start to the season scoring 41 points in the team’s season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers, before dropping 31 points in the following game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Edwards left the game against the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night after just three minutes. He had an MRI on Monday that revealed the extent of his injury.

Chandler Parsons says the Minnesota Timberwolves are Julius Randle’s team ‘for the next two weeks’

Without Edwards, the Timberwolves are going to be in tough as they already lost a game without him to the Denver Nuggets.

The offensive production will dip without Edwards, so they need players to step up.

Chandler Parsons is looking at Julius Randle to rise to the occasion for the next few weeks.

Randle has shown he can have big performances and now he must step up and carry the Timberwolves on offense.

“Julius Randle, this is now your team for the next two weeks. He’s got to get going.

“He’s got to get busy, uber aggressive, and I think he will.”

DeMarcus Cousins says Anthony Edwards could be out longer than two weeks

With Edwards’ right hamstring strain, it could linger and result in him missing more than two weeks.

Players have to be cautious with hamstring injuries, especially Edwards, who is an explosive athlete.

DeMarcus Cousins thinks Edwards’ current injury will keep him out longer than two weeks. He also advised for the Timberwolves’ young players to step up in his absence.

“I could see this going longer than two weeks.

“You want to make sure he’s 100 per cent healthy moving forward this season.

“It’s going to be big for those young guys to step up.”

This could be a great opportunity for Jaden McDaniels to break out on offense as he had a season-high 25 points in the loss to Denver.
