Let’s get you caught up on the latest buzz from around the NBA:

Cavaliers: Collin Sexton remains an unrestricted free agent and the two sides don’t appear to be close with the latest reports indicating that the franchise’s offer is for $40 million over three seasons. Another lingering issue for the team is a potential contract extension for Caris LeVert and the future of the two guards could be intertwined, Kelly Russo of The Athletic explains. Cleveland appears to be to in no rush to move swiftly on either front.

Pelicans: Expectations are high for the Pelicans entering the 2022-23 season with the team assisting the former No. 1 pick with his diet, as contributor Landon Buford relayed on his personal website. There were reports that Williamson was well over 300 pounds at points during his latest rehab. The team inked Williamson to a rookie-scale extension this summer and there seems to be hope that the big man will be able to stay on the court moving forward.

Lakers: Russell Westbrook has hired a new agent. Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports, who previously represented Kyrie Irving, will not represent the former MVP.

Knicks: The league has opened an investigation into possible tampering by the Knicks in regard to their signing of Jalen Brunson. New York isn’t the only team with looming tampering charges, as the Sixers are under investigation for their James Harden deal.

Nets: There have been rumblings that Kevin Durant‘s trade request could move team owners to push for changes in the collective bargaining agreement in an effort to stop stars under contract from moving from team to team. Something like that could lead to a lockout, Brian Lewis of The New York Post writes while explaining that neither the team owners nor the players would benefit from a work stoppage.
