Drake has sparked another NBA debate after fans believed a leaked song included a subtle shot at LeBron James.

The alleged lyric quickly drew attention because it did not sound like a random basketball reference. It landed in the middle of the wider fallout from Drake’s feud with Kendrick Lamar.

That is why the reaction moved so fast. LeBron’s public support for Kendrick already made his relationship with Drake a talking point, and this leak gave fans another reason to revisit it.

Drake appears to shade LeBron James over switching teams

As Dunk Central shared, Drake’s leaked song appeared to include a line aimed at LeBron James and his NBA career moves.

“I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career off of switching teams up,” Drake allegedly said.

The line was widely read as a shot at LeBron because of his moves from Cleveland to Miami, back to Cleveland, and then to the Los Angeles Lakers.

But the deeper layer is Kendrick Lamar. LeBron attended Kendrick’s “The Pop Out” concert in Los Angeles and was seen enjoying “Not Like Us,” the diss track that became the defining hit of Kendrick’s feud with Drake.

That public support appeared to sting because Drake and LeBron had been close for years. Drake previously celebrated LeBron in lyrics, supported him publicly, and had a visible connection to the NBA star.

Now, fans are reading the leaked lyrics as Drake responding to what he sees as LeBron choosing Kendrick’s side.

NBA fans roast Drake for alleged LeBron James diss

The reaction from NBA fans was ruthless because many thought Drake was the wrong person to attack LeBron over loyalty. One fan wrote, “LeBron catching strays over team switches was not on my bingo card.”

Another fan focused on Drake’s tone, saying, “Drake be hating on anyone and anything but himself.” The timing also caught people off guard, with one fan writing, “Drake still throwing shade at LeBron about switching teams in 2026 is wild.”

Others defended LeBron’s status in the NBA and beyond. One fan said, “Drake dissing a guy who literally owns his city.” The sharpest reaction targeted Drake’s own history of jumping between teams and athletes, as one fan wrote, “King bandwagon talking about switching teams, what a world we live in.”

That was the biggest problem for Drake’s jab. Even fans who understood the Kendrick connection did not all buy the basketball criticism.

Instead of making LeBron look bad, the line gave NBA fans another reason to call Drake bitter over a feud that still seems to be following him.
