Hawks

Trae Young is making good progress in his recovery from a sprained MCL in his right knee, but he will miss at least two more weeks.

The Hawks announced the update on Saturday, noting that Young will be reevaluated at that point.

Young injured the knee in a collision with teammate Mouhamed Gueye on October 29 in Brooklyn.

The MRI showed no additional damage, but he has been out ever since.

This is Atlanta’s first formal update on his status since November 1.

76ers

Andre Drummond avoided structural damage after undergoing an MRI on Saturday morning.

The Sixers said he is already feeling better and will be evaluated again at 4 p.m. CT. Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that Drummond is considered day-to-day.

Drummond sprained his right knee in the first half against Brooklyn on Friday.

He appeared to be knocked off balance by teammate Kyle Lowry while going for a rebound and had to be helped off the floor before leaving in a wheelchair.

The initial read, per Scotto, is a hyperextension.

Second-year big man Adem Bona returned from his own ankle sprain and started the second half in Drummond’s place.

The Sixers also had Paul George back after missing a game with an ankle sprain.

Clippers

The Clippers dropped their sixth straight at home and twelfth in their last fourteen overall, losing to the Grizzlies, 112-107.

They led by 16 in the first half before slipping again in the second.

“Every second half, we don’t come out right,” Ivica Zubac said, via the Orange County Register. “We’re not playing the right way. It feels a little bit mental.”

Kawhi Leonard scored 39 and said the team has to get back to playing as a full unit.

“It can’t be two players, can’t be three,” Leonard said. “It has to be the whole fifteen. Even guys on the bench that’s not playing.”
