NBA Writers Makes A Valid Point About An Unsigned Star
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The NBA is full of great free agents who still don’t have a place in the league right now.

Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony are just a couple of the wonderful stars who are sitting at home waiting for a phone call as the season continues on.

But there is another star who is sadly without a place in the league and it’s a bit of a surprise.

NBA writer Ben Stinar gave a shout-out to big man DeMarcus Cousins and his talent, saying, “DeMarcus Cousins could definitely help out a bunch of teams right now.”

Stinar is right.

But how could Cousins assist teams and will that happen anytime soon?

Cousins Comeback

It’s been a few years since Cousins was the most dominant centers in the league.

There was a time when he was doing incredible work for the Sacramento Kings.

After his starting stint in Sacramento, Cousins played for the New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, and finally the Denver Nuggets.

During his time with Denver, Cousins was securing 8.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists a game – not bad for a guy who was a backup center playing in his 11th season.

But as free agency loomed, no other teams were looking to sign Cousins.

The big man has been known for his temper and attitude throughout his career and even though he has managed himself much better over the last few years, it has left an impact on his draw to other teams.

Cousins admitted to mistakes he had made and said that he still wanted to play.

Even a few months ago, he was hoping he would find another chance in the league.

He wouldn’t be a starting center anymore but he could still do a lot of great things off the bench for a few teams.
