Victor Wembanyama's sophomore season with the San Antonio Spurs did not go according to plan. The 21-year-old phenom was an undeniably dominant force in the first half of the campaign, only for it to be cut short by a troubling season-ending injury.
The Spurs decided to shut down their prized superstar after Wembanyama was diagnosed with a blood clot in his right shoulder. It was reported in March that the 7-foot-3 big man had successfully undergone surgery to address the issue, with the Spurs fully expecting to get him back for the start of the 2025-26 season.
Wembanyama appears to be heading in that direction, and his recent photos seem to serve as proof of the same. A couple of pictures of the Frenchman on vacation in Costa Rica are currently making their rounds on social media. In them, Wembanyama is seen putting up some shots on the court.

While there have been no recent major updates on Wembanyama's current status, it's great to see him back on the basketball court. The fact that he's playing ball while on vacation abroad further proves the type of mentality and work ethic this young man possesses.
In 46 games played this past season, Wembanyama registered averages of 24.3 points on 47.6% shooting, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.1 steals and a league-leading 3.8 blocks, while also knocking down 3.1 triples per game on a 35.2% clip.
He is expected to make a full recovery from this blood clot issue, which means that he could potentially be back for an even bigger season in Year 3.
